    Chandran Nair

Chandran Nair is the founder of the Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT), an independent social venture think tank dedicated to advancing an understanding of the impacts of globalisation through thought leadership and positive action to affect change. Chandran was chairman of Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in Asia Pacific until 2004, establishing the company as Asia’s leading environmental consultancy.

Chandran has strongly advocated a more sustainable approach to development in Asia, advising governments and multi-national corporations to instill these principles into their policies and key decision-making processes. His accumulative expertise and experience in Asian environmental and sustainability issues over the past 20 years are unrivalled.

Chandran is a frequent speaker and advisor to current and future business leaders worldwide. In this regard, he has advised a diverse pool of leaders on how to meet the challenges of doing business in Asia, and of globalisation, investment geo-politics, leadership development, ethics, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility. He has served as advisor to Prince of Wales Business Leaders Forum in Asia, the World Wide Foundation (WWF) and Jane Goodall Institute. Through GIFT’s innovative Global Young Leaders Programme, he also seeks to provide practical and long-term solutions to development projects as well as experiential learning for future leaders.

Chandran is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in the UK, and is Adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is also Manager of the Hong Kong Hockey Team.

Chandran lectures energetically, earning a reputation for insightful observation on geo-political realities and for his refreshing, if somewhat edgy perspective.
