Stephen Fry


Actor, director, novelist and writer, Stephen Fry hosts the BBC2 quiz show QI. He returned to ITV1 to star in Kingdom, his first drama series since Jeeves and Wooster in 1997.

Stephen Fry is enormously well-loved for his numerous television appearances, including Alfresco, The Young Ones, Happy Families, Blackadder (series one to four), Saturday and Friday Live, Alias Smith and Jones, The Lenny Henry Show, Filthy Rich and Catflap, A Bit Of Fry And Laurie, Jeeves and Wooster, Cold Comfort Farm, The Wind in the Willows, The Thin Blue Line, Gormanghast, Fortysomething.

Stephen’s film credits include Peter’s Friends, The Good Father, The Secret Policeman's Other Ball, A Handful of Dust, A Fish Called Wanda, Whatever Happened to Harold Smith, Sabotage, and Oscar Wilde in Wilde. Stephen’s projects for radio include Injury Time, Frybeat, Loose Ends, and Saturday Night Fry. As a writer, his TV credits include The Cambridge Footlights, Not The Nine O’clock News, Mastermind, Saturday Night Live and A Bit Of Fry And Laurie (three series).

Stephen’s first novel, The Liar, was published in 1991 and was on the bestseller list for several months. He has since followed it with more bestsellers: Paperweight, The Hippopotamus, The Ode Less Travelled – Unlocking the Poet Within and his autobiography, Moab is my Washpot.

Adding to his string-filled bow, Stephen's Directorial debut Bright Young Things, his own adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Vile Bodies, was released to critical acclaim in 2003.
